Emerald Packaging is expanding—and we are looking for an experienced Laminator to join our new Santa Ana operation.

Job Summary

The Experienced Laminator is responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of lamination equipment used to produce flexible packaging products in rollstock form.

The ideal candidate has previous hands-on lamination experience and is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting equipment/process issues, maintaining quality standards, and minimizing downtime and material waste.

Essential Functions

  • Set up and operate designated lamination equipment safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Perform machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers according to customer job specifications.
  • Read and accurately use rulers, tape measures, and other measuring tools; strong measurement skills are critical for machine setup.
  • Read, understand, and follow customer job orders and production instructions.
  • Monitor film, adhesive, tension, alignment, temperature, speed, and other machine/process conditions as applicable.
  • Inspect finished product to ensure it meets quality and customer specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operating or quality issues and communicate problems to the Supervisor or Department Manager.
  • Maintain efficient production while minimizing downtime, scrap, and material waste.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in good condition and follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Accurately complete required production and quality documentation.
  • Work independently while communicating effectively with supervisors, managers, maintenance, and other team members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience operating lamination equipment is required.
  • Experience in flexible packaging, film, printing, converting, or a similar manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Ability to independently perform machine setups and adjustments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work the required schedule.
  • Ability to eventually work a 12-hour rotating schedule.

Work Schedule

Current Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Future Schedule: The position will eventually transition to a 12-hour rotating schedule, generally two days on / two days off, with significant opportunities for overtime.

Compensation

$30.00 per hour
